Periods: The Major Setback of Indian Society (Khushi Lakhotiya)

How often do you see people talking about menstruation in India?

The only thing you can see is people passing comments such as,

“Hey, see! That red stain on her pant. It looks so weird.

Why can’t these girls be a bit careful?”

Bro, are you crazy?

What is it to be ashamed of?

Haven’t you seen people facing accidents?

Aren’t their clothes stained red?

The other time when you see a girl carrying a packet of pads,

You’re like,

“She’s crazy. Can’t she wrap it in a piece of paper?”

Can I ask you why should she do so?

Do you wrap your packet of cigarettes in a piece of paper?

What is really shameful?

A packet of pads or a packet of cigarette.

Of course a packet of cigarettes that costs so many lives at a time.

How can you call her impure just because she bleeds?

It’s the purest thing that nature has gifted women.

Yeah, it’s indeed a gift.

It’s not so easy to bring a new life in the world.

The pain that she goes through for the 5 days of a month,

You can’t even think about it.

And of those nine months

When she has to carry her baby in her womb.

You’re because she bleeds every five days a month.

“WOH HAI TOH TUM HO”

So how can you call her impure?

Why can’t she go to temple?

Why can’t she enter the kitchen?

Why can’t she touch the pickle?

Just because she bleeds.

Right?

Who taught us this justice?

It’s all okay if a boy smokes and enters the temple.

But it’s not if a girl bleeds and enters the temple.

I agree that boys go through more mental stress

And girls go through through more physical stress.

I even agree that mental stress is far more dangerous than physical stress.

But the way she gets humiliated during her periods!

Is that any less than mental stress that boys go through?

Bleeding is blessing.

There is nothing to be ashamed of baby.

You bring a new life into this world.

You face so much of pain and stress everyday.

You bear the vulgar comments that society passes.

Still you stand strong.

To all the boyfriends and husbands out there;

Maybe your girl goes through a lot of mood swings during these days.

Understand her condition.

Learn to pamper her with your love.

Stay calm even if she gets anxious.

Pamper her with all the love and care she deserves.
